The Role
As a Teaching Assistant you will:
* Provide consistent, calm, and empathetic support within and beyond the classroom
* Work closely with experienced teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
* Use positive behaviour strategies and de‑escalation techniques
* Support pupils in building trust, emotional regulation, and social skills
* Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
* Be a positive male role model for pupils who may lack this influence elsewhere
Ideal Candidate
* Male (for role‑modelling purposes and to support the needs of specific pupils)
* Experience in SEMH, autism, or youth work is highly beneficial
* Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and calm under pressure
* Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Comfortable with physical intervention training or willing to be trained (e.g., Team Teach)
* DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
