We are hiring a Senior Risk Advisory Consultant to play a pivotal role in our European Risk Advisory team. This is a client-facing, high-impact role combining technical market risk expertise, strategic advisory work, and leadership responsibility — ideal for professionals from market risk, treasury, derivatives, or financial advisory backgrounds. Responsibilities: Client Leadership & Advisory Act as lead advisor and primary point of contact for a portfolio of key institutional and private capital clients Deliver project-based engagements and ongoing retainers, advising on FX, interest rate, and derivative risk strategies Translate complex market risk analytics into clear, actionable recommendations for senior client stakeholders Market Risk Analysis & Modelling Conduct market risk assessments, stress testing, and VaR modelling across FX, rates, and derivative portfolios Build and maintain Excel-based risk models for exposure analysis, scenario planning, and hedge effectiveness Support clients on hedging strategy design, risk mitigation, and performance monitoring Problem Solving & Innovation Respond to ad-hoc, high-stakes client queries with structured, commercially sound insights Proactively identify emerging risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance client outcomes Contribute to innovative projects, new methodologies, and the evolution of Validus’ advisory and technology offering Collaboration & Growth Work closely with Quantitative, Global Capital Markets, and Technology teams to deliver integrated solutions Support business development, including proposals, client pitches, and cross-sell / up-sell initiatives Present and demonstrate Validus’ risk technology platform to clients and prospects Leadership & Development Mentor junior team members and oversee delivery across multiple client engagements Help shape best practices, internal processes, and a high-performance advisory culture Requirements Experience Strong professional experience in market risk, treasury, derivatives, or financial advisory, ideally from: Investment banks (FX / rates hedging, market risk, structuring) Asset managers, private capital, or institutional funds Risk or management consulting firms Exposure to institutional or private capital clients strongly preferred Technical Expertise Deep understanding of FX hedging, interest rate risk, and derivative instruments Experience with VaR modelling, stress testing, and market risk monitoring Advanced Excel modelling skills; PowerPoint proficiency Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar market data platforms Qualifications Relevant undergraduate degree (Finance, Economics, Engineering, Maths, or similar) CFA or FRM (completed or in progress) highly valued Other relevant qualifications welcomed (MBA, MSc Finance, AMCT/MCT, CAIA, CIMA, ACCA) Skills & Attributes Excellent written and verbal communication with a client-centric mindset Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under tight deadlines Benefits Working at Validus can offer an exciting opportunity for both personal development and professional growth.
