The Team
The Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team is responsible for religious provision and pastoral care for all staff and students. We provide spaces and opportunities for reflection, listening, confidential support, prayer, worship, meditation, socialising and spiritual exploration. In doing this we work closely with teams across the university, from Student Life to academic schools.
The role
This Chaplaincy Administrator role, reporting to the Chaplain, assists the Chaplains and ensures the smooth running of the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Office. This will include, but is not limited to, looking after the Chaplaincy budget on a weekly basis; keeping up to date with risk assessments and health and safety requirements; liaising over Chapel bookings and providing support with events. The post holder will also manage the Chaplaincy’s social media accounts and liaise with the Design team regarding publicity for Chaplaincy events.
Key requirements
The successful candidate will have an organised nature which allows for successful time-management and the ability to prioritise tasks. They will demonstrate the ability to build constructive relationships with staff and students, offering sensitivity and warmth to everyone visiting or using the Chaplaincy, regardless of their background, culture or faith. Awareness of major Christian festivals and customs would be an advantage but is not essential. This role will require the successful candidate to obtain a DBS check.
