We’re seeking a self-assured and driven Buying Officer to join our team at Motherwell for a 14-month maternity cover. This position is well-suited for an enthusiastic, proactive team member who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, enjoys working under pressure, possesses a keen awareness of quality, and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.

What you’ll do

* Drafting contracts for the Scottish Buying team
* Generating purchasing notifications for Suppliers
* Securing price confirmations for Suppliers after the end of negotiations
* Collecting data from Suppliers for the Scottish Buying team and checking for plausibility
* Setting up and maintaining master data in the Purchasing systems
* Implementing basic training for new, international and non-specialist employees
* Updating and maintaining Training material for all processes within the team
* Involvement in the optimisation of processes
* Preparation of weekly reports

What you’ll need

* German speakers preferred
* Excellent attention to detail
* Self-motivated, able to work well in a team and independently within a high-pressured environment
* Demonstrates strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks while adhering to targets and stringent deadlines
* A high degree of adaptability
* A confident approach with excellent communication skills
* Pro-active, approaching problems logically and calmly
* Fully proficient in Microsoft Office
* Positive can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
