The Project Curzon Street station is a new £800m HS2 project in Birmingham city centre. The station development, whilst forming part of the new HS2 network between London and the North, will provide a catalyst for development across the East side of Birmingham. As a leading station, Curzon Street strives to provide a centre of excellence for the development of best practice reporting and management models. The role Leads the implementation and delivery of a comprehensive range of PMO and Project Controls services to support commissions. Provides line management leadership and guidance for other disciplines within the PMO and Planning Centre of Excellence and the wider business (including other hubs, international operations, and Centres of Excellence) as required. Responsibilities · Accountable for PMO and Project Controls services performance on assigned commission(s). · Creates and designs effective PMO and Project Controls frameworks and strategies. · Manages and directs clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all PMO and Project Controls matters. · Acts as a trusted advisor and builds strong professional relationships with client organisations. · Serves as PMO and Project Controls Subject Matter Expert on assigned projects/programmes/portfolios. · Leads and directs the administration of PMO and Project Controls processes, particularly cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting, ensuring escalation of performance and management issues. · Oversees periodic reporting and structured governance and performance meetings. · Leads development and management of the baseline (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and monitors delivery performance, change, and contingency, including Quantitative Risk Analysis (cost and time). · Ensures all activities comply with Mace Control Centre, client requirements, and prevailing legislation. · Provides line management to junior PMO and Project Controls resources and other project/programme staff as required. · Mentors and supports the personal and career development of junior team members. · Innovates and aligns with industry best practice to ensure continued service excellence. · Leads delivery of a high-performing PMO and Project Controls team on assigned commissions. · Supports Hub PMO and Project Controls Director with resourcing and recruitment for assigned commissions. · Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and proactively identifies and manages associated carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.
