Do you have a passion for making a difference to children who have special educational needs? We are looking for a very special individual to support some of our learners who have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) in Years 5 and 6.
The successful candidate will support the class teachers in adapting learning to support individuals in reaching their full potential and will work 1:1 or with small groups to focus on specific targets. They will have the privilege of working with children with a range of needs, including autism, speech and language needs and generalised learning difficulties.
We can offer you the support of an extremely experienced SENDCo team and the opportunity to work alongside a committed staff team who have a great sense of humour, while keeping the children at the centre of all that we do. We were very proud of the opening line of our Ofsted report, ‘Galley Hill is a caring and inclusive school’ and welcome you to come and visit to see this for yourselves.
The job role is for 30 hours a week (8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch) during Hertfordshire term time. It is a temporary role until July 2027 in the first instance (when the children being supported will be leaving the school) however there is a possibility of this becoming a permanent role.
Galley Hill Primary School and Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to suitable references, medical, DBS and social media checks in accordance with Herts County Council guidelines.
