Health & Safety Advisor

* Job Type: 2-year Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
* Travel Required: Occasional
Reed HR have partnered with a fantastic company who are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join the team. This role is crucial for providing competent health and safety advice and support, establishing and monitoring compliance with health and safety requirements, and actively participating in the development and implementation of company processes. The successful candidate will be the primary advisor for the Navigation Systems and Corporate IT Teams.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Provide competent health and safety advice and support to assigned departments.
* Develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), COSHH assessments, and work instructions as required.
* Implement and embed health and safety processes across departments.
* Deliver Site Health and Safety inductions for all employees and contractors to ensure compliance with legislation.
* Engage in Health, Safety and Wellbeing meetings and campaigns to promote and support the communication of relevant information.
* Support the investigation of incidents, ensuring that root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented.
* Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO45001 standards.
* Undertake and maintain a program of workplace inspections and assessments.
* Engage with departments to represent their views at committee meetings and develop improvement plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (NVQ Level 4) required.
* Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a background in construction or high risk environments preferred.
* Knowledgeable in health and safety legislation and capable of producing detailed risk assessments.
* Experience with compliance checks and ad-hoc spot checks.
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 and safety management software.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Full clean driving licence.
