Responsibilities
The Environment Artist will be responsible for the design and creation of detailed large-scale full-CG and matte painted environments for live-action and animated features.
You will use a flexible generalist approach to your work, but within the context of a mature pipeline with well-defined standards.
Experience Required
* Ideally 4+ years experience making environments for high-end live-action vfx feature films and/or television series.
* Experience on animated feature films or large-scale vfx pipeline preferred
Skills Required
* Urban Environments: background cities.
* Procedural & painted texturing
* Generating flow/deposition/erosion/arbitrary masks to modulate texturing/lookdev
* Basic lookdev setup
* Scattering tools & manual layout
* Multi-camera projections on geometry
* Software
* Photoshop, Nuke, Maya, Speedtree
* Houdini Landscape Tools, Terragen, WorldMachine, Vue or similar.
* Nice to have:
* Mari, Substance Designer/Painter, Houdini, Katana/Arnold
Compensation
The anticipated base salary for this position is $37.50 - $53.80/hr CAD. Benefits are per company policy: including healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
