You’ll be stepping in to keep lessons running smoothly when teachers are away. Think of it as being the steady hand in the room—keeping pupils engaged, following set plans, and making sure learning doesn’t skip a beat.

The role :
* Supervising entire classes in the absence of their regular teacher. ( SECONDARY MAINSTREAM STUDENTS 11-16 YEARS)
* Supporting students in completing the work set, ensuring effective learning.
* Managing classroom behaviour to maintain focus and discipline.
* Ensuring that students follow instructions and stay on task with the work assigned.
* Being punctual and starting lessons on time.
* Registering students promptly using the school’s electronic system and addressing punctuality and attendance.
* Explaining and projecting the assigned work clearly, writing it on the board, and distributing necessary resources.
* Maintaining high standards of work and encouraging students to complete their tasks.
* Ensuring that students do not leave the classroom without a valid reason and issuing out-of-class passes if required.
* Ensuring the classroom is tidy and litter-free at the beginning and end of each lesson.
* Enforcing the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy, addressing behavioural issues using the appropriate school procedures.
* Using school systems to remove disruptive students from the learning environment.
* Ensuring students are dismissed properly at the end of the lesson, leaving the classroom only after the supervisor.
* Tidying up the classroom, cleaning the board, and ensuring the interactive whiteboard is turned off at the end of the lesson.
* Undertaking form registration for absent form tutors and supervising students during form time, as well as fulfilling any duties assigned in the absence of the form tutor.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
