PK Education is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a large secondary school in Doncaster on a long-term temporary basis starting in September.
This role is ideal for individuals considering a career in education or experienced cover supervisors looking for a new challenge.
You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of education in the absence of teaching staff, working across a variety of subjects and year groups.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise lessons across the curriculum as pre-planned by teaching staff.
* Ensure a calm and productive classroom environment.
* Manage student behaviour in line with school policy and encourage positive conduct.
* Provide feedback to the relevant teacher on pupil behaviour and engagement.
* Assist with registration and administrative tasks as required.
* Support the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
* Contribute to the wider school community, including break and lunchtime supervision if necessary.
* Support students with tasks and clarify instructions when needed.
* Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
Requirements
Essential:
* A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Flexibility, reliability, and a calm, professional approach.
Desirable:
* Previous experience working in a secondary school setting.
* Interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education.
* Experience supporting young people in an educational or youth work setting.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training will be provided).
