Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Women\'s health and developing the Perinatal and Pelvic Health Service (PPHS) for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and delivering outpatient rehabilitation to people with Perinatal and Postnatal conditions. The post holder will work within the Women\'s Health and PPHS service across sites: Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Wycombe General Hospital and Amersham Hospital. The Women\'s Health and Pelvic Service comprises mainly of outpatient physiotherapy clinics across sites. This is a part time post of 18.5 hours.

We encourage integrated teamwork, evidence-based practice, supervision and appraisal, and support staff through continuing education and postgraduate courses. Attendance at post-graduate courses is supported. Weekend working rotas are expected for candidates.


Main duties of the job

The post holder must work at an advanced level of clinical practice as the clinical lead for Perinatal Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. Responsibilities include collaborating with maternity and other perinatal services to improve prevention, identification, and access to NICE-recommended treatment for pelvic health problems antenatally and for at least 12 months postnatally. The role includes developing and leading the Women\'s health and pelvic health service, working with the established multidisciplinary team (MDT) across gynecology, urogynaecology and colorectal services, and optimising multiprofessional pathways of care through service development, direct clinical care and issue resolution. The post holder will plan, implement and monitor strategic delivery of a highly specialist, evidence-based Perinatal Pelvic Health Service in conjunction with pelvic health leads, consultants and midwifery leads at Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (ICB); NHS England; and the Bucks Physiotherapy manager.

Qualifications

* Current registration with Health Care Professions Council
* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
* Membership of professional special interest group e.g. POGP
* Field work/clinical educators course
* Completion of advanced postgraduate courses in relevant field
* CSP Membership


Experience

* Minimum of 3 years working experience at Band 7 level in Women\'s/Pelvic Health
* Experience in student clinical supervision and supervision of junior & senior staff
* Experience with quality issues, audit, research activities and risk management
* Experience of close multiprofessional working in an in/out-patient environment
* Experience, knowledge and application of evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning
