SSE plc is seeking a Catering Assistant to join their team at Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre.
Base Location: Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre
Salary: £23,422 FTE (Approx £12.75 per hour) + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract OR Secondment | Part Time | Flexible First options available
The Role
Our Visitor Centre opened in January 2017 and sits on the banks of the River Tummel, looking over the beautiful Loch Faskally. SSE has a wealth of heritage and history waiting to be discovered by the 100,000+ people that visit the centre each year.
The centre features a busy café, serving fresh local produce to our visitors and providing breath-taking views over Pitlochry Dam and the River Tummel. In addition, there are two exhibition areas, a shop stocking a range of interesting and relevant souvenirs and gifts and a multipurpose room which can be used as an education centre and meeting room.
We are currently looking for seasonal part time Café Assistants with a genuine willingness to provide a world-class visitor experience to join our existing team. This role includes working weekends.
Responsibilities
* Preparation and service of good quality food and beverages to meet the centre's standards and policies.
* General kitchen and café duties including serving, washing up, setting up, and clearing down.
* Helping to clean the centre ensuring all designated areas including kitchen area, café, retail, toilets and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
* Delivery of exceptional customer care to customers, interacting with visitors, and being cheerful, approachable and visible while on duty.
* Working closely as a team to consistently achieve the mystery visit score and identify ways of improving service delivery.
Requirements
* Previous experience of providing customer service in a fast paced environment, ideally within the catering sector. Barista training is preferred but not essential.
* Experience of cash handling and the ability to operate a PC based till would be preferred, however training will be provided.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Adaptable and organised in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work alone and as part of a team.
* Ability to stay up to date with Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Food regulations.
