Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control & Instrumentation)
Job title: Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
1. Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to oversee the delivery of the vehicle control solution and strategy.
3. Support assurance activities with the Office of the Chief Engineer.
4. Work with the engineering manager to deliver the vehicle control system, reporting progress through agile tools.
5. Ensure timely delivery of the engineering plan.
6. Provide guidance on engineering methods and processes.
7. Develop technical solutions with the Engineering Delivery Team, mentoring team members.
8. Engage with legacy stakeholders to develop solutions from baseline designs.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Experience designing large-scale C&I systems meeting functional, defence, and industrial standards.
* Managing non-functional requirements like EMC and shock for industrial compliance.
* Authoring/reviewing design documents such as I/O schedules, specifications, and interface control documents.
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or Science.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of control system architecture and protocols (e.g., RS-485, PROFIBUS).
* Experience with IEC 61508 or similar functional safety standards.
* Experience with manoeuvring systems across industries.
