Your Role
and What You'll Be Doing
As the Senior Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) Regulatory Advisor is to be a Subject Matter Expert in AML and FCP, being responsible for providing complex advice and resolution to the business to ensure that it can meet its regulatory and legal obligations.
1. Providing technical and investigative advice and support to the MLCO and MLRO
2. Receiving disclosures from colleagues regarding possible money laundering or terrorist financing activity and advising on these.
3. Submitting SARs to the NCA when required and approved by MLRO/DMLRO;
4. Leading initiatives and takes responsibility for implementing continuous improvements in our AML, Sanctions and FCP policies and procedures alongside the MLRO/DMLRO.
5. Advising the firm on potential money laundering or terrorist financing risks arising from disclosures made by the business, including whether the firm can continue to act or should cease to act.
6. Reviewing and advising on complex High Risk Approval escalations
7. Providing technical supervision to the GCT FCP Team on AML, sanctions and other financial crime matters.
About You
8. Extensive knowledge of AML, FCP and sanctions regulations and requirements and experience of providing advice in relation to the application of these principles within a large multi-disciplinary law firm
9. Practical experience of a Compliance or in-house legal function
10. Ability to network and proactively build relationships across a range of internal departments
11. Practical skills in presenting and reporting to senior managers, both in writing and face to face
12. High level of attention to detail
13. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
