Consultant Psychiatrist, Guildford & Waverley
We are inviting applications for an experienced and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults, based at Berkeley House, Godalming.
Overview
The role delivers specialist mental health care and leadership within a high‑performing team, supporting older adults across Guildford and Waverley, with conditions such as dementia and functional illnesses.
Responsibilities
* Lead complex clinical assessments and formulate treatment plans.
* Provide care in community and care homes, supporting nurses and other multidisciplinary staff.
* Conduct three clinics per week, home visits as needed, and participate in weekly MDT meetings.
* Offer guidance to team members and partner agencies.
* Contribute to teaching, clinical governance, and service development.
* Occasional duties as an Approved Clinician under the Mental Health Act.
Qualifications & Experience
* Fully qualified Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in older adult mental health preferred.
* GMC registration (or eligibility).
* Strong clinical leadership and multidisciplinary working skills.
Offer & Benefits
* Annual salary £109,725 – £145,478 plus £149 fringe. NHS on‑call requirement.
