40 hours per week; 8-hour shifts (3-11:30 pm weekdays, and 7 am-3:30 pm or 8 am-4:30 pm on weekends & holidays); rotating weekends and holidays.
Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Primary responsibility is infection control.
* Maintain sterile technique.
* Perform duties according to procedure.
* Clean, sterilize, package, and assemble instrument sets.
* Handle cleaning of reusable items, including surgical pieces, through steam sterilizers, gas sterilizers, washer sterilizers, and ultrasonic cleaners if necessary.
* Manage waste disposal and decontamination of contaminated items.
* Inspect equipment and instruments for condition and operation at all procedural steps.
* Collect solid instruments, kits, and equipment for processing.
* Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping duties on work stations.
* Assist in collecting data for Quality Assurance programs.
* Potential growth in surgical case charts, sterilization containers, and CSR computer applications.

Education/Experience Required:
* High School Diploma.
Registration/Certification:
* Must be enrolled in a Central Sterile Technician program, with certification required within 1 year of employment.
