Our Business & Farm
Farming Partners began 13 years ago and gives landowners and career farmers the freedom to farm by bringing them together to run high-performing Grassland Dairy Farms focusing on our Cows, Our People & Our Grass. We have an excellent track record of developing and progressing team members from all levels, including students on placement to running their own businesses while owning a share of the farm business.
Due to a new farm joining and progression for current team members, we have an opportunity for a Herd Manager/2IC to join our team. This position is on one of our dairy units near Dumfries, consisting of 650 New Zealand Jersey grazing cows, milked twice a day through a herringbone parlour. We operate on a spring block calving system, with all records and data kept up to date using Herdlync.

* Supporting the Farm Manager with all staff management, including weekly staff rotas and training
* Collaborating with the wider farm team on farm audits, cow nutrition, milk production, and herd welfare
* Managing dry cows, calving cows, and colostrum protocols
* Overall grazing management & budgeting
* Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
* Ensuring the farm is tidy and safe at all times
* General stockperson work, including operating farm machinery and maintenance
