Join our Rail team as a Plant & Logistics Manager on our Sizewell project and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you!
What you'll be doing
The typical duties and responsibilities of a Plant & Logistics Manager include the following:
* Responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost effective way.
* Oversees the distribution and transportation of Plant and materials from the manufacturer/supplier to the Project.
* Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
* Continuously improving the quality of products to meet the set standards and Project requirements
* Preparing production and performance reports for senior management
* Building effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers and the project team
* Developing and implementing a comprehensive system for maintenance checks, servicing and on hire/off hire records for the plant
* Maintaining all administrative records
* Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and The Project team
* Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency
* Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery in line with Vosa and the company Operators licence.
* Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems
* Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, product volumes or carriers and report results to others
* Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement
* Keep track of slow moving and obsolete materials
* Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process
* maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process
Who we're looking for
The following skills and experience are essential:
* Previous experience in logistics management
* Experience working with Rail Plant
* Plant operator certification (current or previously held)
