DNA Recruit are working with a Leading Business Development Consultancy who are on the lookout for a dynamic and strategic Business Director to take the reins of their account management team. Known for helping brands and agencies grow through commercial partnerships, this innovative consultancy blends strategic thinking with smart delivery, and they’re looking for someone who can lead by example, drive growth, and strengthen client relationships at a senior level.
About the Role
As Business Director, you’ll play a critical leadership role, overseeing a portfolio of 15–16 clients. You’ll be responsible for developing account strategies, improving retention and revenue, and helping the team deliver consistent, high-quality work. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on client management, offering the chance to make a real impact both commercially and culturally.
Your core focus areas will include:
* Leading the account management team and supporting their development
* Creating and executing strategic account plans for client growth and retention
* Chairing quarterly business reviews and managing key senior stakeholder relationships
* Acting as a senior point of escalation for clients
* Driving upselling, price reviews, and long-term partnership growth
* Overseeing the transition process from new business win to delivery
* Reporting monthly to the leadership team on progress and performance
* Ensuring CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) are kept current and accurate
Skills and Experience Required
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Commercially sharp with a strong understanding of client needs and market dynamics
* Experienced in leading client services or business development teams
* Strategic, with the ability to create actionable plans that drive measurable outcomes
* A confident communicator, equally comfortable with senior stakeholders and team members
* Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to take ownership of both results and people
* Skilled in coaching, performance management, and team motivation
* Proficient with CRM tools and reporting platforms
