HW Finance are delighted to be partnering with a large multi-national organisation to help appoint a new Head of Financial Reporting. My client are looking for a technically strong finance leader to take ownership of external financial reporting and the financial control environment. This is a high-profile role responsible for ensuring the integrity of published financial information and maintaining a robust control framework across a multi-entity structure. You’ll lead a capable team of qualified and part-qualified accountants and work closely with senior leadership and external advisors to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and governance. Key responsibilities: Own the preparation and delivery of annual published financial statements across the organisation Ensure full compliance with technical accounting requirements, working across multiple reporting frameworks (including IFRS and UK GAAP variants) Oversee periodic financial reporting requirements for key external stakeholders Lead the end-to-end year-end audit process, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring an efficient, well-managed audit cycle Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure high-quality inputs, robust review processes, and strong financial governance Drive, challenge, and continuously strengthen the internal financial control framework Lead monthly balance sheet governance and compliance reviews, ensuring results are accurate, consistent, and well-controlled Identify and deliver improvements across processes, controls, and ways of working Build a high-performance culture with clear ownership, strong capability development, and consistent delivery against deadlines Key Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Strong track record in technical accounting, statutory reporting and external audit leadership Confident operating within a complex multi-entity environment with strong attention to detail Proven experience strengthening financial controls, governance processes and compliance standards A credible, collaborative leader who can influence stakeholders and develop a high-performing team
