We’re looking for a creative, calm-under-pressure individual to join our TV Presentation team on a 12 month contract. TV Announcer Directors are the people who keep BBC One NI, BBC Two NI and BBC Parliament running smoothly on air, 365 days of the year.
You’ll become one of the voices of the BBC, directing live output, writing and delivering engaging live continuity announcements, and making real-time decisions that keep our channels on track.
As part of your application, we'd like you to supply a recording of your voice to three scenarios featured on the application form. Please upload as a wav file to a Dropbox or equivalent and provide a link.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
We combine live broadcasting with delivering programmes and promotions directly to our audience. Working from self-operated presentation suites, you’ll collaborate across the BBC, making decisions that shape what viewers see and hear. Our audience is very important to us, and we strive to give them the best experience possible. If you share our passion for broadcasting and want to join a great team who keep the BBC on air, we’d love to hear from you.

* Announcing live on air: Write and deliver continuity links that connect with audiences and promote our content.
* Directing transmission: Operate playout systems and manage the schedule to ensure everything goes out exactly as planned.
* Problem-solving on the fly: When things don’t go to plan (and sometimes they don’t), you’ll be the one keeping calm and getting us back on track.
* Collaborating across the UK: Work closely with editorial and technical teams in Belfast, Westminster, and beyond.
Your Skills And Experience
* You’re confident speaking live on air and have a clear, engaging voice.
* You’re cool under pressure and can make smart decisions quickly.
* You’re a strong communicator who can write your own scripts and adapt on the fly.
* You’re tech-savvy and you think you could be comfortable operating broadcast systems (we’ll provide training!)
Essential Criteria
* Demonstrate experience of broadcasting/content creation.
* Show meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
* Have a thorough knowledge of the output, how we promote our programmes, and understand the audience we serve.
If you can bring some of these skills and experiences, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
