My client, a UK-based Engineering Consultancy specializing in Sustainability, Civil, and Structural Engineering, is seeking a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join an established team in York.
Applicants should have a strong academic background in Civil Engineering (BSc and/or MSc) and experience with UK-based Consultancies or Local Authorities, particularly in Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, Surface Water Drainage Strategies, and SuDS Designs using Infodrainage or Flow.
Local residency and experience in river restoration, watercourse diversions, or nutrient neutrality/pollution projects are advantageous.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse Flood Risk, Surface Water, Drainage, Aviation, and Renewable Energy Projects for Private Sector Clients, Local Authorities, and Housing Developers. You will also be involved in river restoration, watercourse diversions, and flood alleviation works.
Support will be provided to complete:
1. Flood Risk Assessments for flood zones 1, 2, and 3.
2. Surface Water Management Plans.
3. Surface Water and Foul Drainage Strategies.
4. Flood Risk Mapping.
5. Residential Drainage and Sewerage Design using Flow and Microdrainage for various development types.
6. Drainage Area Planning.
