We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and well-organised individual responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all reception staff and associated functions, ensuring all tasks are carried out according to procedures, protocols, and timescales. The role reports to the Practice Operations Manager and promotes a harmonious and professional atmosphere in this public-facing position.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (10:30 am - 6:30 pm, Monday - Friday)

Job responsibilities
Supervisory Role:
* Induct and train new staff to standards
* Support staff development and mandatory training
* Manage staffing levels, leave, and rotas
* Handle complex patient inquiries and complaints
* Assess and improve systems and quality
* Manage team issues and evaluate performance
* Lead staff huddles and maintain records
* Monitor appointment system activity and support scheduling adjustments
* Oversee reception and waiting area maintenance
* Assist with IT issues and practice housekeeping
* Participate in practice meetings and training
* Ensure confidentiality and safety protocols
Reception Duties:
* Greet patients courteously
* Answer calls professionally
* Book appointments and manage records
* Handle prescriptions, post, and hospital correspondence
* Update patient information
* Support other staff as needed and ensure security
Additional duties include attending meetings, participating in training, and adhering to health and safety, equality, and data protection policies.
