An excellent opportunity has arisen to work with the Oxford Radiology Research Unit (ORRU) within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust as a Research Administrator. We are looking for an enthusiastic administrator to coordinate research activities within our organisation that have a radiology component. This includes facilitating collaboration between departments and ensuring a quality service is provided to support over research studies that use Radiology's services.
ORRU has a vital role in leading and facilitating clinical and scientific research and development in all aspects of cross-sectional imaging. We ensure quality and provision of clinical trial services is in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
The Research Administrator is a critical role that will be based at the Churchill Hospital. You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills and must be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork, resilience and a real ‘can do’ attitude. There are two Research Administrator posts within the department, and you will work alongside a colleague to collaborate and manage the workload together.
The role is advertised at hrs, which could be worked across to days, or other options can be discussed to fit around your current work life or home life commitments (minimum days).
Main duties of the job
You will coordinate the set-up of all research studies within the Trust with an imaging component that require the services of Radiology. You will be well supported in a friendly team of administrators, practitioners, nurses and clinicians within the Oxford Radiology Research Unit.
You do not need to be familiar with research language or methodologies as this will form part of the induction to your role. We are keen to find a research administrator with exceptional administrative capabilities and understand that research may not be an area you have considered before.
You will be the main point of contact for research services offered by the Radiology Research Unit, and you will play a key role in delivering high quality support to researchers and service users to guide the department in its prioritisation of tasks. You will have strong coordination skills and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with different departments. Forming good working relationships is integral to the role.
You will be organised and methodical, able to prioritise and work well under pressure, with a positive approach. You will have the ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information appropriately, applying accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
