About the role
You will be responsible for delivering swimming lessons at an Active Leeds leisure centre. Key aspects involve developing and delivering lessons for adult and junior customers, using a variety of teaching methods and the online system.

Job purpose
* To provide an effective and efficient lifeguard service in accordance with professional codes of conduct, and corporate policies.
* To carry out a range of duties to assist in the provision of sport and leisure activities whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Administer First Aid as necessary and report accidents, injuries and incidents as per procedures.
* Conduct general cleaning duties and maintain facilities according to cleaning schedules.
* Supervise a range of children’s activities and parties, ensuring compliance to child protection policies.
* Promote and support equal opportunities and health & safety.
* Perform any other duties directed by supervisor.
Progression criteria to A2
* Supervise swimming pool activities, identifying hazards and taking action per SOP and emergency plans.
* Maintain National Pool Lifeguard qualification by attending training sessions.
Qualifications
* National Pool Lifeguard Qualification/NRASTC or equivalent; STA Level 2 Award/Certificate or Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.
Essential requirements
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
* Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
* Good level of general fitness.
* Positive motivation of self and others.
* Adaptability to different work situations.
* Understanding of child protection and welfare issues.
* Experience of working with customers and lifeguard duties/tasks.

* Experience in a public leisure centre or private sector industry.
