Carson McDowell is looking for a business development professional with exceptional writing and project management skills to support and lead a range of business development deliverables. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Business Development, as well as key stakeholders within the company, this role will involve various content writing activities for different project types and will play a critical role in driving growth and enhancing brand awareness.
The Role:
Managing the firm tender process from pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) to tender submissions, including:
* Preparing written responses to PQQ/Tender questions;
* Liaising with internal and external parties to obtain information for submissions;
* Managing the clarification and RFI process;
* Assisting with reviewing past successful and unsuccessful submissions and gathering feedback and lessons learned to promote continuous improvement.
* Creating a bid knowledge library and undertaking periodic reviews to ensure all content is up-to-date and applicable
* Responding to due diligence and supplier information requests.
Supporting the development of engaging and on-brand copy for both internal and external audiences, including:
External
* Lead the development of compelling proposals and statements of work for service delivery (private tenders) that align with brand style and clearly communicate value to clients.
* Write clear, concise, and compelling copy for a variety of client-facing mediums, including but not limited to marketing materials, website content, social media, email campaigns and more
* Research, draft, and edit speeches, remarks, and statements for delivery at events, sponsorship launches and conferences.
* Copy edit and provide input into press releases and media statements.
Internal
* Lead the strategy for all internal communications channels, including the Intranet, videos, and email.
* Work with business support teams and committee heads to communicate internal HR, Well-being, ESG, and IT initiatives across the firm.
Managing ad-hoc copy and content requests from the Marketing and Business Development Director and senior leadership, including the Managing Partner and Senior Partner.
We are looking for someone who has the following skills:
* Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to oversee multiple and demanding projects simultaneously and work to strict timescales.
* A creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh ideas and engaging narratives.
* Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
* Commercial acumen
Experience
* 3 years plus experience in a marketing, business development, bid writing or communication role, or a role where you can demonstrate transferable skills.
* Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates exceptional English writing skills in a range of writing formats and tones.
* Proven experience in crafting messaging for both internal and external audiences.
* Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
* Knowledge/experience of the legal industry.
