JOB TITLE: Grounds Maintenance Operative
LOCATION: Horndean
SALARY: £12.60/hr
DURATION: 12 weeks initially to go to Perm
The Employer
We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment. Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England, they are ambitious and have a huge 5 year plan which we are seeking a GMO to assist with, their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones creating vibrant, thriving communities.
The Role
* Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates
* Responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges AND soft landscaping/minor tree work
* Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and record tasks carried out
* To include grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works
* Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean and in good condition and report any defects to the supervisor.
* Assisting all other trades as and when required ensuring that residents/customers receive a high-quality service
The Candidate
* Experience in a Grounds Maintenance Operative similar role or trade background, preferably with experience of Grounds Maintenance.
* Knowledge and skills in the use of both mechanical & hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations
* An understanding of customer needs and ability to think quickly when needed
* To behave in a courteous and professional manner
* Great communication skills
* A clean Driving Licence (with towing ability DESIRABLE)
* Practical amenity horticultural knowledge & experience
* PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
* NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)
Summary
This is a Full time role, working a 40 hour week over 5 days.
The Grounds Maintenance Operative role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
