Overview
Enthusiastic and motivated Short Breaks Support Officer to support our children and young people who access Short Breaks within the community or within our dedicated building, Blossom Lodge. We are looking for a resilient, creative and versatile individual who will be prepared to work flexibly on a rota that includes every other weekend and bank holidays, which attract salary enhancements. Applicants are required to have some knowledge of disabilities and be able to support children and young people with their personal, social, emotional, physical and health care needs. Applicants will assist in the design of innovative and creative play opportunities and sessions to maximise opportunities for disabled children and young people to achieve their potential.
Responsibilities
* Support children and young people with personal, social, emotional, physical and health care needs within the Short Breaks setting.
* Design innovative and creative play opportunities and sessions to maximise outcomes for disabled children and young people.
* Work flexibly on a rota that includes every other weekend and bank holidays (salary enhancements apply).
* Contribute to a supportive and inclusive team environment through regular supervision and collaboration.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant field such as childcare, health and social care or sports related subjects; ability to undertake a Level 3 qualification.
* Good general education and willingness to undertake relevant training.
* Knowledge of disabilities and ability to support children and young people with their needs.
