The Health Board serves around 450,000 people and provides primary, secondary and community health and wellbeing services across three counties. Maternity Services are provided across three sites with multiple birthing environments to support women and staff.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the assessment, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for clients in all areas of Maternity Services.
* Ensure the provision of the highest standards of care, reflecting quality standards and the Trust mission.
* Practice clinical skills through experience and completion of Midwifery Skills Competencies. Act as a mentor for less experienced Midwives and other staff.
* Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment across the obstetric unit and midwifery-led units.
Location and Facilities
* Prince Charles Site (Level 2) – obstetric unit with an alongside midwifery-led unit, birthing pools, bereavement room and enhanced environment.
* Royal Glamorgan Hospital – free-standing midwifery-led unit offering a home-from-home, tranquil environment.
* Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend – Level 2 Maternity Unit with an alongside Midwifery Led room, Daffodil Suite with Birthing Pool; obstetric services support increased surveillance during labour.
Qualifications and Experience
* Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome to apply.
* Clinical midwifery skills and competency development required; ability to mentor and support others.
