Job summary:
Excellent long-term contract opportunity for an Instrumentation Engineer with 5+ years experience to work on cutting-edge Hydrogen Energy projects.
Hybrid working with 3 days/week in office.
Key skills required for this role:
* 5 years+ design experience as an Instrumentation Engineer
Our client, a leading provider in the Oil & Gas sector, seeks a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role involves contributing to industry-leading projects across various phases, from concept studies to EPCm of major developments, including traditional Oil & Gas assets and innovative Hydrogen solutions. The environment supports professional growth and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing technical input for instrumentation on projects and proposals, including preparing, checking, and approving engineering documentation.
* Ensuring compliance with codes, legislation, and standards.
* Preparing equipment and material requisitions for control systems, safety systems, analyser houses, field instrumentation, and other instrument equipment.
* Preparing installation scopes of work.
* Reviewing supplier quotations and preparing technical bid assessments.
Additional tasks may include:
* Full lifecycle development of control or protection systems.
* Software qualification of SMART devices and PLCs.
* Performing functional safety tasks.
* Managing C&I ageing and obsolescence.
Job Requirements:
* Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering; apprenticeships considered.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it.
* Proficiency in design practices and installation requirements across industries.
* Experience in Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Water sectors.
* Knowledge of UK legislation and standards.
* Experience with equipment installation in potentially explosive areas.
* Experience with CE marking, ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, EMC Compliance.
* Awareness of risk management and HSE requirements.
