UK Fraud focuses on the specific financial fraud threats the firm faces now and in the future, pioneering techniques and technology that protect our business, customers, and communities from fraud harms. This role reports to a Senior Manager – Fraud Control Design within UK Fraud, responsible for managing fraud across the business and ensuring fraud controls are optimized to prevent, detect, and mitigate fraud for HSBC UK and its customers.
The Fraud Control Design team implements solutions through change initiatives within the fraud remit or influences and enhances controls outside the broader fraud function within the FLoD.

In this role you will:
1. Support the development of strategies and protocols monitored and delivered through analysis of fraud patterns, implemented within our fraud detection systems and processes across core fraud typologies (Card, Payments, Lending/First Party fraud).
2. Interpret MI and trends, identify issues and risks, and escalate potential issues with strategies to address fraud and risk.
3. Ensure that any required changes can be developed and implemented.
4. Work closely with operational teams to ensure controls are appropriately designed and implemented into fraud treatment strategies.
5. Maintain close relationships with the Strategic Fraud Analytics function to develop models and optimization tools that meet business requirements and risk appetite.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
* Experience in Fraud risk and fraud typologies (Card, Payments, Lending/First Party).
* Strong background in change management and delivery of change programs in a Fraud risk environment, particularly Originations.
* Experience working with Fraud Detection systems such as Biocatch, Hunter, SIRA, and Threatmetrix.
* Knowledge of control delivery and design methods.
* Relevant work experience in a risk environment, preferably FLoD or SLoD.
* Experience working across multiple fraud typologies and engaging with senior stakeholders.
* Experience developing new processes within a Fraud Strategy/Analytics/Operations/Policy function.
Location: Leeds, Chester, and Birmingham, with options to meet a 60% in-office requirement at various hub locations.
