Construction Planner P6 – High Voltage Grid infrastructure (Contract – Outside IR35)

Rate: £500-550 per day (Outside IR35)

Infraspec is supporting a major infrastructure contractor who has recently secured a significant framework for HV power projects on National Grid infrastructure. As part of this expansion, we are seeking an experienced P6 Construction Planner with expertise in HV infrastructure such as substations, HV cabling, and switchgear to join the project team.
Overview
You’ll be responsible for developing and managing a detailed fully integrated Primavera P6 construction programme for the pre contract phase of a major £1bn + scheme.
* Building and maintaining P6 programmes that reflect HV construction sequences and risk events.
* Creating fragnets to model actual vs. planned progress, particularly around critical grid connection milestones.
* Reviewing subcontractor programmes to ensure alignment with specifications and technical standards.
* Collaborating with engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and realistic planning across the HV programme.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience creating and managing schedules in Primavera P6, ideally for National Grid infrastructure, or high voltage transmission projects.
* Strong understanding of HV construction techniques, sequencing, and associated risks.
* Background in one or more of the following sectors: power transmission, utilities, civil engineering, or electrical infrastructure.
* Excellent analytical and reporting skills to identify programme risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including client-side and delivery teams.
This is a contract role outside IR35, with 3-4 days on site, site is close to Birmingham New Street.
