The role requires registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician. Preference will be given to candidates with previous primary care experience.

Job responsibilities
We seek an enthusiastic, forward-thinking pharmacy technician to join our PCN. The successful candidate will support clinical pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team, with scope for professional development as our PCN expands.
The role involves contributing to medicines management, liaising with community pharmacy teams, and supporting service improvements based on current best practices and service change requests from our clinical commissioning group. Experience with primary care operations and systems like SystmOne is advantageous but not essential.
Main Duties:
* Support PCN Clinical Pharmacists in delivering clinical pharmacy services
* Assist with medicines optimization, safety monitoring, and adherence
* Liaise with clinicians, pharmacies, and patients to resolve medication issues
* Support audits, data collection, and implementation of safety alerts
* Contribute to service development, including electronic repeat dispensing and antimicrobial stewardship
Collaborating Working Relationships:
* Work collaboratively within the PCN team and with external healthcare providers
* Participate in meetings and initiatives to improve pharmacy services
Practice Targets:
* Support practices in achieving QOF and CQC standards
* Monitor prescribing budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
PCN responsibilities:
* Report safeguarding issues and participate in staff training and development
* Undertake the CPPE Primary Care Education Pathway and other professional development activities

Person Specification
Qualifications:
* BTEC/NVQ3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Registered pharmacy technician with experience in primary care
Skills and Knowledge:
* Understanding of prescribing, medicines management, and GP budgets
* Good communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality
* Willingness to travel across practices (UK driving license required)
* Relevant training including safeguarding and immunization status
