Salary and Hours
Salary: £30,188 to £34,452 (pro rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 3:15pm with 45 minutes unpaid break; Friday 8:30am to 12:15pm with a 15 minute unpaid break.
Overview
Corstorphine Primary School is excited to be recruiting for an empathetic and resilient Pupil Support Officer to join our talented Pupil Support team.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have experience providing a nurturing approach to the learners in most need of support.
Have experience in maintaining high levels of attendance and delivering suitable interventions for those needing support attending school.
Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the school.
In role, the successful candidate will work collaboratively as a member of the team, help pupils meet their educational, care and welfare needs, ensuring those with intensive and complex and/or a high level of language support needs can effectively access the curriculum.
Support the development and delivery of individual, group and whole school approaches and programmes in one or more specialist areas, including, but not restricted to;
* Bilingual Support
* Attendance
* Care Experienced
* De-escalation
* Neurodiversity
To be flexible and provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the school as directed by the school leadership team.
The support needs of the child or young person may include significant social, emotional and behavioural needs requiring provision of a high level of support for dysregulated behaviour.
Qualifications and Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
