At University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, employees and patients are at the heart of everything we do. We have exciting opportunities in our Facilities department at Furness General Hospital for a Domestic Assistant to support a clean and safe environment.
Main duties of the job
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in clinical, public, and external areas using recognized methods.
Identify areas to be cleaned, plan and organize cleaning schedules with relevant staff, ensuring safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
Operate cleaning equipment safely, report faults immediately, and undertake deep cleans following guidelines.
Carry out spot cleaning for spillages and incidents, supported by clinical staff as needed.
Follow all COSHH assessments and safety data when handling chemicals.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital, along with community healthcare premises.
Each hospital offers a range of services including emergency, outpatient, diagnostics, and surgery, as well as outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
