Job Description:

Women's Super League Football has an exciting opportunity in a pivotal role as Head of Football Operations and Administration.

WSL Football aims to transform women's football by building the most distinctive, competitive, and entertaining women's football league in the world, for players and fans of today and tomorrow.

What will you be doing?


Strategic Planning and Delivery

* Contribute to strategic development of league scheduling and operational planning.
* Lead contingency planning for fixture congestion, weather, and exceptional events.
* Collaborate with broadcast and commercial teams for matchday operations and visibility.
* Improve league operations through reviews and stakeholder feedback.
* Manage relationships with PGMOL for officiating strategies.
* Develop competition rules to support an entertaining and competitive league.
* Lead and develop a team supporting the growth of women's professional football.


Competition Operations

* Oversee operational delivery of the league season including scheduling and match protocols.
* Manage league logistics and develop operational manuals.


Football Administration and Governance

* Oversee player registrations, transfers, and squad submissions.
* Coordinate with the FA on regulations and disciplinary processes.
* Maintain accurate competition records and ensure data integrity.
* Review technology strategies for women's leagues.


Stakeholder Management

* Build relationships with clubs, governing bodies, and industry stakeholders.
* Represent the league at relevant forums.
* Perform additional tasks as needed to meet organizational priorities.


What are we looking for?


Essential:

* Experience in football operations, preferably in leagues or governing bodies.
* Proven leadership and people management skills.
* Knowledge of FA, UEFA, FIFA rules.
* Ability to manage complex programs and stakeholder relationships.
* Organizational and project management skills.
* Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.


Beneficial:

* Knowledge of women's professional football.
* Experience in change management.
* Familiarity with competition management systems.
* Experience in a commercial environment.
* Understanding of women's sport professionalization.
