Job Advert Torus Group is seeking a Strategy and Policy Advisor to play a key role in maintaining a programme of policy insight activities, ensuring the Group is kept informed of relevant emerging legislation that will or may impact the business, supporting leadership decision-making. In addition, the role will also assist in managing the risk management function, embedding strong operational risk practices across the Group. This role is hybrid, with a mix of home and office-based working. The team currently has office days on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Liverpool city centre office; however, the successful candidate must be flexible in line with business needs, as this arrangement is subject to change. What You’ll Be Doing: * Assist in developing a programme of policy insight and horizon scanning activities, identifying emerging policy and legislation that may impact Torus. * Produce regular policy insight reports to advise Torus leadership with regard to new or emerging policy and legislation. * Work in a guidance function to support the production of external information and knowledge documents. * Support leadership team across the Group to prepare responses to external policy developments. * Provide support and guidance in the development of Torus Group’s internal strategies and policies. * Assist in developing and maintaining an effective risk management framework across the Group. What We’re Looking For: * Qualified by experience in a political, public affairs or external relations function at a large-scale organisation. * Able to analyse and interpret complex information and to brief those at the highest organisational levels, both internally and externally * Demonstrable experience of influencing, policy analysis and organising external campaigns, and knowledge of the local and national political and policy environments * Evidence of commitment to continual professional and personal development. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with a range of audiences * Ability to analyse and interpret complex information. * Willing to work towards gaining a qualification in risk management. Interview Process: * Interviews will take place at our Liverpool office w/c 11/05/2026. Interviews will include a scenario-based assessment, provided on the day, alongside competency-based questions.
