Job Description:
The Energy Conversion Systems group seeks an experienced Staff Design Evaluation Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. The group includes over 50 NPD engineers across the US, Europe, and the Philippines.
The engineer will collaborate with the new product development team to characterize products for Automotive E-powertrain, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Renewable Generation, and industrial process control applications. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to bring products to market, requiring a self-motivated individual with strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing hardware and software measurement solutions for integrated circuit products.
* Executing design evaluation processes including Silicon Functionality, Sampling, Characterization, and Correlation.
* Defining measurement methods and plans in collaboration with Design Engineers.
* Performing pre-tapeout verification using tools like LTSpice.
* Designing schematics and working with Layout Engineers on PCB hardware.
* Conducting bench top measurements and robustness tests.
* Analyzing data and preparing measurement reports.
* Managing project schedules and costs.
* Contributing to market collateral through articles or lab circuits.
* Mentoring measurement Engineers.
* Travel up to 10% for customer or training visits.
Qualifications:
* BSc or MSc in EE or ECE with 7+ years of related experience.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with mixed-signal IC evaluation, Gate Drivers, Silicon Carbide FETs, and Power Products preferred.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical data analysis tools.
* Hands-on experience with measurement equipment.
* Knowledge of software languages like LabVIEW, Python, or C/C#.
* Familiarity with PCB design and CAD tools such as Cadence Allegro or OrCAD.
