The Role
Celebration of Life is a leading UK direct cremation and prepaid funeral plan provider. We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales team, drive conversion performance, and ensure consistently high standards of customer care in a regulated environment.
This role is suited to a manager who understands how to balance commercial performance with professionalism, empathy and ethical sales practices.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the sales team, ensuring enquiries are handled promptly, conversations are high quality, and opportunities are progressed effectively.
You will coach the team to build strong rapport, manage objections appropriately, and close sales without pressure. Where opportunities do not convert through standard sales activity, you will take a hands-on role in selected customer interactions to ensure every viable opportunity is fully explored and progressed appropriately.
You will also oversee the controlled use of customer incentives and time-bound offers, applying sound judgement and ensuring alignment with internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and performance-manage our B2C sales team
* Improve conversion rates through better call quality, follow-up and sales discipline
* Take direct ownership of selected customer interactions where additional senior involvement is required
* Ensure all viable opportunities are appropriately progressed and not left unresolved
* Maintain clear oversight of incentives, approvals and sales conduct
* Review call quality, sales outcomes and individual performance regularly
* Set clear expectations and address underperformance promptly
* Recruit, onboard, and develop new sales talent
* Work closely with senior management to refine sales strategy and processes
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience managing a B2C phone-based sales team
* Background in regulated, high-consideration or sensitive sales environments
* Comfortable stepping into customer conversations to help conclude sales where appropriate
* Track record of delivering sales results while maintaining high compliance standards
* Commercially aware, with strong judgement and accountability
* Hands-on leadership style with high standards
* Calm, professional and customer-focused
Experience Required
* Minimum of 5 years experience with B2C telesales
* At least 2 years proven experience as a Sales Manager
