Who are we? Kibble is Scotland’s specialist provider of services for at risk children and young people. By providing a range of integrated services, we help build positive futures for children and young people aged 5 plus, with complex social, emotional, and educational needs. Job Purpose: As a Campus Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations within our safe centre for children and young people cared for at Kibble. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the children in our care, while also providing leadership and support to our team of care staff. This role requires a compassionate, dedicated individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Someone who has strong situational leadership skills and can manage a range of complex and competing demands would be ideally suited to this role. Key Responsibilities: Care and Support: Provide situational leadership, guidance, and support to staff across within the safe centre, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of the children and young people in our care. Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure environment within the safe centre, implementing and enforcing all relevant policies and procedures. Crisis Management: Respond effectively to crisis situations, including incidents of challenging behaviour or emotional distress, utilising de-escalation techniques and following established protocols. Administration and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all interactions, incidents, and developments concerning the children in our care, and across stakeholder groups ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Communication and Collaboration: Foster positive relationships with children, families, external agencies, and stakeholders, promoting open communication and collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance processes, including audits, inspections, and reviews, and take proactive measures to address any areas for improvement. Essential Criteria: Qualifications: You should be a registered residential childcare worker with no requirements. Experience: Demonstrable experience working in a residential childcare setting. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams and individuals to achieve their best. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues and stakeholders. You will often be the first point of contact for external agencies and so you should be articulate, professional, and diplomatic. Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to respond calmly and decisively to challenging situations. Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records. Knowledge: A thorough understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, relevant legislation and regulations and the nuanced complexities of Kibble. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service. IT Skills: Proficiency in using IT systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes. Desirable Criteria: Additional Qualifications: Further qualifications or training in areas such as therapeutic interventions, trauma-informed care, or management. Commitment to Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning, with a proactive approach to staying updated on best practices and emerging trends in residential childcare. The successful candidate will be subject to PVG Scheme Membership. Having previous convictions will not automatically disbar you from working at Kibble (with the exception of offences against children or other vulnerable groups) and every case is taken on an individual basis. The successful candidate will be required to undertake Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training and will require a level of fitness to be able to carry out SCM. The successful candidate must be able to participate fully in this training and be prepared to put this training into practice.The SCM training will consist of two days theory and two days physical training. The successful candidate must complete this training in full within four weeks of an agreed start date. Should the candidate for any reason fail any aspect of the SCM training (theory, physical or both parts), an additional two weeks will be given to pass.
