My client, a market-leading organisation, is looking for an NPD Technologist to join their growing team! If you have experience within this field, working in the food, pharmaceutical, or any other relevant industry, then this role may be for you!
You’ll bring your curiosity, technical expertise, and market awareness to create products that balance functionality, quality, cost, and compliance, whilst driving continuous improvement in every stage of product development.
Duties include:
1. Deliver customer-led and internally driven NPD and innovation projects.
2. Formulate and develop products such as premixes, nutritional products (human or pet), RTD beverages, and dairy-alternative solutions.
3. Work with cross-functional teams to scope and define project requirements, costs, and approval criteria.
4. Provide formulation, nutritional, and technical support across the business.
5. Lead product trials internally and with co-manufacturers; attend first productions to ensure smooth implementation.
6. Conduct sensory assessments and advise on shelf-life and packaging considerations.
7. Support Sales with customer presentations and technical input.
8. Build ingredient knowledge, monitor market trends, and identify innovative opportunities.
9. Work collaboratively with Procurement and Quality to approve new raw materials and suppliers.
10. Contribute to continuous improvement within the NPD process.
The successful candidate will have / be:
11. A degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related field.
12. Previous experience working within a product development role, from concept to launch.
13. A strong understanding of ingredient functionality.
14. Experience formulating within food, beverage, or nutrition categories.
15. Organised, with project management skills.
