We are looking for a passionate and positive Vocational Assessor specialising in Industrial Cleaning and Waste Management. You will work within a custodial setting, supporting learners to achieve meaningful qualifications as part of the rehabilitation journey.
Key responsibilities of our NVQ Assessors include:
11. Workplace Assessments: Assessing learners in different workplaces within the prison establishment.
12. Guidance and Support: Providing feedback, guidance, and support to learners as they work towards their NVQ qualifications.
13. Evidence Collection: Gathering evidence of a learner’s skills and knowledge to demonstrate their competence.
14. Assessment: Evaluating learners’ performance against NVQ standards and providing constructive feedback.
15. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of learner progress and assessment results.
In addition to the core responsibilities, you will also be involved in:
16. Planning and delivering training sessions.
17. On-going development of Learning Materials.
18. Providing training to learners to help them develop the skills needed for their NVQ.
19. Participating in quality assurance activities.
20. Collaborating with colleagues, Prison Managers, Prison Workshop Instructors, and employers.
You will need to possess:
21. An Assessors Award or equivalent for example CAVA.
22. Recent Assessing experience (within the last twelve months).
23. A positive attitude to offender rehabilitation.
As a Vocational assessor, you will guide and assess learners through their qualification, sharing your knowledge and preparing them for work in the sector. Your support helps learners build confidence and open doors to future employment, making a tangible difference in their lives and communities. Cohorts are between 8 and 10 learners.
