As a Resuscitation Training Officer within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will be a recognised clinical expert leading, shaping and delivering resuscitation education across a wide range of clinical settings. This senior role offers the opportunity to influence safe, high‑quality patient care at critical moments, supporting staff during some of the most complex and challenging clinical situations. You will work autonomously while collaborating closely with senior clinicians, managers and external partners. This is a highly rewarding role for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about education, excellence and saving lives.


Duration, Location and Working Pattern

* Location: Royal Alexandra Hospital
* Pattern: Monday to Friday


Key Responsibilities

* Lead, manage and develop a comprehensive resuscitation training programme aligned to national and international guidelines
* Act as the clinical specialist and team leader during adult and paediatric cardiac and peri‑arrest events when required
* Deliver high‑quality teaching and simulation‑based training, including ALS, APLS and multidisciplinary courses
* Support staff development through mentoring, debriefing and professional guidance following clinical emergencies
* Oversee resuscitation equipment standards, placement and maintenance, and contribute to business cases for upgrades
* Contribute to policy development, audit and research to continuously improve resuscitation practice
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external bodies to promote best practice across the service


Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required

* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and a minimum of five years acute clinical experience
* Advanced Life Support instructor qualification with evidence of ongoing clinical and educational development
* Specialist expert knowledge in resuscitation practice for adults and children
* Proven experience in delivering education, training and simulation in a clinical environment
* Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at a senior level
* Ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities and service demands
* Clear understanding of professional accountability, clinical governance and organisational policies
