Job Title: Expert by Experience Co-Trainer - Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Location: Widnes and Runcorn Salary: £12.60 per hour Employer: Halton Borough Council We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our training team and play a key role in delivering the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism to staff working across health and social care in Halton. About the Role: As an Expert by Experience Co-Trainer, you will co-deliver engaging and informative training sessions to Halton Borough Council staff. You will work alongside other Experts with Lived Experience and Trainers as part of a supportive Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Team. This important role will involve sharing your lived experience to help others better understand learning disability and/or autism, the reasonable adjustments required, and how to provide more effective support and communication. You will have completed the Oliver McGowan Expert Co-Trainer Training and hold a current valid registration number. Ongoing support and development opportunities will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Co-deliver training sessions face-to-face using a variety of methods, including group discussions and traditional teaching techniques. Take part in rehearsals and additional training to build confidence and skills. Share your lived experience with professionalism and openness. Contribute to creating a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive training environment. Raise any concerns relating to the delivery of training sessions. About You: We are seeking candidates who: Have lived experience of a learning disability and/or autism. Have completed the Oliver McGowan Expert Co-Trainer training. Are confident and willing to speak in front of groups. Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues. Are professional, friendly, and committed to supporting others. Have an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding. Ideally, you will also have experience in: Customer care environments. Working within health and/or social care. Delivering or supporting training. Working collaboratively within a team. Please note that this role will require you to travel independently across venues within Widnes and Runcorn to deliver training sessions.
