New Directions Education is actively recruiting Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistants to support a number of fantastic primary schools across the Wirral. With increasing demand for experienced KS2 support, we are looking to register dedicated and confident TAs who are ready to take on ad hoc, part-time, and long-term roles.
Location: Wirral
Start Date: ASAP
Roles Available: Flexible supply, long-term placements & ongoing school support
Your Role May Include:
– Supporting Year 3–Year 6 classes
– Delivering small group interventions (literacy, numeracy, SATS prep)
– Working 1:1 with pupils who need additional learning support
– Helping to maintain a positive, structured and focused classroom environment

– KS2 experience in a school setting
– Strong behaviour management skills
– Confidence supporting upper KS2 learners

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.
We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;
1. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
2. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
3. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
4. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
5. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
15. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
16. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
17. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
18. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
19. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
