This is a fixed term contract due to end when the postholder returns to the role. We’re seeking someone who can deliver formal learning sessions for schools and contribute to our imaginative programme of events for young people. You'll be working full time and a minimum of one weekend in four. You may also be required to work occasional evenings when we have an event. The role is based at Knole and hands-on with regular direct delivery to schools and groups. What it's like to work here Knole has been welcoming visitors for over 400 years. Originally built as an archbishop’s palace, Knole passed through royal hands to the Sackville family, who still live in the house today. Knole is one of the National Trust’s Children and Young People’s Hubs offering learning visits and much more. We welcome over 3000 young people every year for curriculum driven visits and many more during days out. Inspiring the next generation and welcoming everyone is hugely important for our cause and this Discovery Facilitator is central to our work. This role reports to the Senior Programming and Partnerships Officer. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team who works together to get things done and delivers a fantastic events and programming offer. What you'll be doing You’ll be developing relationships with schools, mapping out our programme of learning visits and supporting the Senior Programming & Partnership Officer with family programming. Some of these activities will be delivered by you & a team of volunteers, who you’ll manage and nurture relationships with. Every day is different, from planning a new learning session, to leading a SEN school visit, delivering training for volunteers, or arranging an activity for our family events programme. Who we're looking for We can’t wait to hear from you if you have: Experience in directly delivering a schools programme and/ or working with community partners to deliver events and activities for children ideally in the heritage, culture or visitor attraction sector. Good people skills, enabling effective working relationships with the Visitor Experience team and staff and volunteers across the property. Experience of identifying risks and taking appropriate action. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety and safeguarding procedures. Great organisational skills to enable day to day delivery and long-term planning of an engaging and playful offer for schools.
