I am recruiting a skilled Site Engineer to support the delivery of Utilities Diversion works on a major HS2 infrastructure programme. This role offers the opportunity to work on a nationally significant project within a fast‑paced, high‑performance engineering environment.
The RoleAs a Site Engineer, you will provide technical support across all utilities diversion activities, ensuring works are set out accurately, fullypliant with design, and delivered to programme. You will work closely with Works Managers, Agents, planners, and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set out and survey works for utility diversions (water, gas, electric, tels).
2. Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
3. Provide engineering support to site teams and subcontractors.
4. Maintain accurate QA records including ITPs, check sheets, as-builts, and site diaries.
5. Assist in planning, sequencing, and coordination of multi‑utility work fronts.
6. Ensure worksply with HS2 technical standards and statutory requirements.
7. Raise technical queries (TQs) and support resolution of design or site issues.
8. Conduct daily site inspections to uphold quality and safety expectations.
Essential Skills & Experience
9. Experience as a Site Engineer within utilities projects.
10. Proficient in site surveying, setting out, and use of GPS/Total Station equipment.
11. Strong understanding of utilities, streetworks, or infrastructure delivery.
12. CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications.
13. Strongmunication and documentation skills.
14. Ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Desirable
15. Previous experience on HS2
16. Working knowledge of temporary works, permits, and utility provider standards.
