The Role
As an Electronics/Electrical Test Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the performance, quality, and compliance of electrical and electronic assemblies. Working closely with Engineering and Operations, you’ll be responsible for testing products to both MOD and commercial standards, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring a safe, efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Test electrical and electronic assemblies using approved procedures and standards
* Develop and build test rigs, fixtures, and procedures in collaboration with Engineering
* Diagnose faults and work cross-functionally to resolve technical issues
* Demonstrate equipment functionality to customers and stakeholders
* Produce accurate documentation and test reports
* Ensure compliance with company, statutory, and quality standards
* Support design improvements and feedback to Engineering teams
* Maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety policies
* Deliver work within agreed timeframes and cost targets
What We’re Looking For
* Experience testing electrical/electronic systems or assemblies
* Strong understanding of health & safety and safe working practices
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Experience working in fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environments
* Knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems and ISO14001 environmental standards
* Awareness of ESD handling and best practices
Qualifications
* GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
* Apprentice-trained background
* HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or working towards)
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g. IFS)
* Understanding of lean manufacturing (5S, waste reduction)
* Low voltage training
