About the role
This role is a Secondment for UCL Employees Only for a 12-month fixed term period in the first instance.
The role is a key point of interface between the Faculty and academic departments, and UCL’s central Communications and Marketing strategy and operations. Principal duties relate to UCL Arts & Humanities and include responsibilities to:
1. Develop and implement the Faculty’s student recruitment marketing strategies across Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research.
2. Provide strategic advice and guidance on undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment issues to academic and professional services staff.
3. Develop and manage student recruitment projects such as the development of high-quality student recruitment materials, which support student recruitment, from initial enquiry to enrolment.
4. The role will suit an experienced marketing professional who is able to set the strategy for the faculty on student recruitment marketing across multiple departments, responding to the challenges of the future.
The post holder will lead and coordinate key student recruitment projects, including the Faculty’s participation in central Open Days and other student recruitment events, write and approve course content for digital marketing across all undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research courses, and advise on marketability and demand for current and new courses. This will include writing, editing and uploading content, and selecting and sizing images and multimedia.
The post-holder will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including Deans, Heads of Department, departmental administrators, academic colleagues, and central teams across UCL’s Communications and Marketing division and Registry (specifically Admissions), as well as external partners and institutions.
About you

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
5. Relevant first degree or equivalent experience.
6. Professional background in HE student recruitment, particularly across multiple departments and/or disciplines.
7. Experience of managing and liaising with external designers and printers.
8. Proven ability to develop and deliver strategies relating to student recruitment marketing.
9. Ability to build productive relationships and networks with academic and professional services colleagues at all levels.
10. Understanding and experience of UK higher education administration, specifically in a student recruitment and marketing context.
