Job overview
We are looking for a dedicated Design and Technology Technician to join our team in Deeside. You will possess strong practical and organisational skills, alongside the ability to support engaging and effective practical learning experiences across Design and Technology.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning by preparing materials, maintaining specialist equipment and resources, and ensuring practical learning spaces are safe, organised, and fully operational for learners and staff.
Working across Design and Technology areas, the post holder will contribute to maintaining high standards of health and safety, organisation, and technical support, helping to create an inspiring and effective learning environment.
The role will involve supporting the preparation and maintenance of specialist equipment, including workshop machinery, tools, and CAD/CAM equipment where appropriate, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and safe workshop practices.
The right candidate will have:
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Experience of working with tools, equipment, or practical resources
A good understanding of health and safety requirements within a practical environment
The ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting staff and learners
Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and maintaining a safe and secure environment
Relevant qualifications or experience in Design and Technology, engineering, maintenance, or a related area would be advantageous
